Audley End Books

Audley End in northwest Essex was acquired by the British Ministry of Works in 1948 and is today part of the UK’s National Heritage Collection. Around half of the objects in the house are owned by the heirs of the Barons Braybrooke, including most of the books. Audley End and Gardens are today managed and operated by the charity English Heritage, for the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England. The library contains at least five Audley End books annotated by Edward de Vere.
